Spanish Fork Counter
Service Board

Six services, one readable trade bench

The Cardfather LLC runs every service through the same three checks: what the card is, what condition it is in, and what the market will honestly pay. Below is what each service includes, how it is handled at the counter in Spanish Fork, and what you should bring or prepare before you arrive.

Singles and Set Completion

Binder Sleeve B

Singles are the backbone of the shop and the reason most collectors walk through the door. Our binder system covers vintage and modern baseball, basketball, football, hockey, and a growing selection of soccer and non-sport cards. Each set has its own sleeve, and each sleeve is annotated with the checklist range it covers so that a set builder can see at a glance whether the missing card is likely to be on the bench or in back stock.

Set completion works best when you bring a want list. Send it by email to orders@cardfather.mom with the set year, brand, card numbers, and any condition floor you are willing to accept. We will reply with availability, raw or graded status, and a price for each card we can supply. If a card is not in stock, we will tell you whether it is realistic to source and roughly how long that usually takes. We do not accept payment for a card we cannot confirm.

Walk-in browsing is always welcome. Pulls are held for five business days under the name on the request, and we mark the card in the inventory system the moment it is pulled so it cannot be promised to a second customer. If a hold expires, the card goes back to the sleeve and the customer is notified before it is listed again.

Sealed Products and Boxes

Display Rack

Sealed product is bought from established distributors and stored in a climate-controlled back room away from direct sunlight. Hobby boxes, blaster boxes, retail packs, factory sets, and the occasional sealed case pass through the same intake check: factory seal intact, corners square, no moisture staining, and a recorded arrival date. Anything that fails a check is either returned to the distributor or clearly marked as shelf-worn before it reaches the sales floor.

We believe buyers should be able to inspect what they are buying. You can ask to see the shrink wrap, the tuck flap, and the corner condition before payment, and for case purchases we will open the outer carton in front of you if the product allows it without breaking factory seals. We do not rewrap, reseal, or repackage product, and we do not sell loose packs from opened boxes as if they came from a fresh box.

If you are buying a box as a gift or for a group break, tell us at the counter and we will pack it with corner protection and a receipt marked with the purchase date. Sealed product cannot be returned once the factory seal is broken, and we explain that before the sale rather than after.

Grading Submission Service

Grading Slab

Grading turns a condition opinion into a documented, protected card, and it is also the part of the hobby where logistics most often go wrong. Our submission service exists to remove that uncertainty. Bring your cards to the counter and we will review each one for centering, corners, edges, and surface, then discuss whether grading is likely to be worth the fee. Cards that will not recover their cost are better left raw, and we will say so.

Every submission starts with an intake sheet listing the card count, the declared value of each card, the chosen grading tier, and the expected turnaround. You receive a copy of that sheet, and we log the batch in our tracking system the same day. From there we prepare the cards according to the grading company requirements, ship the batch with insurance, and record the transit and return dates. If you call +19803429259 during shop hours, we can tell you exactly where the batch stands.

When the slabs return, we inspect them for label accuracy and holder condition before notifying you. If a slab arrives damaged or mislabelled, we handle the correction process with the grading company on your behalf. Declared values are discussed openly before submission because they affect both insurance and fees, and we do not inflate a declaration to make a batch look stronger.

Trade-In and Buyouts

Price Sticker Gun

We buy singles, complete sets, sealed product, and full collections, and we do the sorting in front of you rather than behind a curtain. A trade-in begins with the collection spread on the felt runner. We sort into strong singles, mid-range singles, bulk, and sealed, then price each pile using recent sold data and condition-weighted comparables. The result is one offer with a short written note explaining how the number was built.

You can take cash or trade credit. Trade credit is offered at a better rate because it stays in the shop and supports the binder inventory, but there is no pressure to choose it. If you decline the offer, you leave with the same cards you brought in, sorted back into their original order on request. There is no fee for an evaluation during shop hours.

For large collections, call ahead so we can set aside counter time and a second staff member for the sort. Bring any grading certificates, original packaging, and a rough inventory if you have one. Complete sets with the key cards present are worth substantially more than the same cards loose, so let us check completeness before you sell a set as bulk.

Case Breaks and Live Sales

Trade Tin

Case breaks let a group share the cost and the excitement of a full case. We announce each break with the product, the date, the number of slots, the assignment method, and the shipping terms. Team, box, or random assignments are posted and closed before the first pack is opened. Random assignment uses a published procedure so every participant can see that the draw was fair.

On break night we open packs on camera, call out each hit, and sort cards into labelled team bags as we go. Every card ships in a toploader or a card saver with a team bag and tracking. If a product includes a redemption or a damaged card, we photograph it and follow the manufacturer process, keeping the participant informed at each step.

Live sales run in a similar spirit. Items are described before bidding, condition notes are read aloud, and shipping is quoted up front. We do not add surprise fees after a sale, and we do not substitute a different card for one that was shown. If you cannot attend live, ask about a proxy bid and we will explain exactly how it is handled.

Card Shows and Events

Dealer Table

The Cardfather LLC hosts and attends card shows around Utah County, and the events are planned with the same care as the shop counter. Dates, venue, table layout, entry fees, and trade hours are published well in advance. Dealers receive a floor plan and a clear price policy, and visitors receive a simple guide to the hall so they can find the tables that match their interests.

Our own tables at shows carry a curated selection of singles, sealed product, and grading information. We keep a beginner corner with staff who will explain condition, sleeves, and fair pricing without pressure, because a show is often the first place a new collector sees the hobby up close. Families with children are welcome, and we keep the beginner corner calm and well lit.

If you are a dealer interested in a table, or a venue interested in hosting an event, contact us at orders@cardfather.mom with your requirements. We review table requests for product balance, so the hall is not six tables of the same modern release, and we publish the final floor plan before the event opens.

How a visit to the counter runs

  1. Arrive with a goal. A want list, a box of cards to sell, or a stack to grade. Walk-ins are fine, but a short email to orders@cardfather.mom before you come in saves counter time.
  2. Look and ask. Every card on the bench has a visible price. Ask for the basis of a price and we will show the comparable sales behind it.
  3. Confirm condition. Raw cards are inspected in front of you under a loupe. Sealed items can be inspected for seals and corners. Graded slabs are checked for label accuracy.
  4. Agree the terms. Purchases produce a dated receipt. Trade-ins produce a written offer. Grading produces an intake sheet. Break slots produce a posted assignment.
  5. Leave with a record. Keep the receipt or intake sheet. Call +19803429259 during shop hours if anything about the transaction needs a follow-up.
